Welcome to Creations Education Academy, a small, family-run Preschool and Early Education Centre in Belmont, NSW, providing high-quality early education for children aged 0–5 years. At Creations, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and part of our extended family. As a 34-place centre, we build strong, meaningful relationships with every child and family.

Barb McLean, Director

Owner / DirectorBachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary)
Barb’s educational journey reflects a strong commitment to supporting children across a range of settings. Beginning her career as a primary school teacher before moving into early childhood education, she has built a broad foundation of knowledge and experience that has shaped her passion for nurturing young minds.
Throughout her time in the sector, Barb has worked in a variety of roles including Educational Leader, Director and Operations Manager. These experiences have given her valuable insight into the diverse needs of children and reinforced the importance of creating a supportive, engaging and enriching environment. Her work as an intervention teacher further strengthened her understanding of child development and behaviour, allowing her to collaborate with a range of allied professionals.
Barb’s decision to establish Creations was driven by her strong belief in individualised learning and play-based education. She is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences, including embedding phonics into everyday play in fun and engaging ways. Her vision for Creations is centred around a welcoming and inclusive environment, with an open-door approach that fosters strong, genuine relationships with families and a true sense of community.
Overall, Barb’s journey and vision highlight her dedication to providing high-quality early childhood education, ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and given the best opportunity to grow, learn and thrive.

Our Educators

Alongside Barb, our dedicated educators work collaboratively to support each child's learning and well-being. They understand how important it is to find the right childcare centre. That's why they focus on creating a calm, welcoming space where children feel secure, and families feel confident. Our educators also take the time to truly know each child, supporting their individual needs, interests, and development. With consistent care and a team-based approach, they help create the warm, family-focused environment Creations is known for.
